The new Indian Premier League (IPL) season is almost upon us. To get ready for one of the toughest cricket tournaments, players are leaving no stone unturned. KL Rahul, in the same way, has started his preparations for the IPL 2025. Before turning up for his new franchise, Delhi Capitals (DC), the newly made ICC Champions Trophy winner has looked in superb touch.
KL Rahul readying for IPL 2025
Incredibly, KL Rahul was seen practising not with DC support staff. Instead, he went through the training session with the Indian national team assistant coach Abhishek Nayar. It is quite fascinating as to why Rahul isn’t training with DC itself. Instead, Rahul was seen playing attacking shots, including one lofted shot over the off-side. Catch the video below.
While the likes of Axar Patel, Faf du Plessis, Tristan Stubbs and almost all the DC players have joined the camp, Rahul still hasn’t. One reason why Rahul hasn’t trained with the Capitals yet could be because the IPL franchise have been on travel recently. After a camp at the Arun Jaitely Stadium, DC moved to Vizag, their second home for IPL 2025. Vizag will host the first two games for Delhi Capitals.
Redemption for KL Rahul
After a truncated IPL 2023 campaign, where injury forced him to exit mid-tournament, KL Rahul is back with a vengeance. He was released by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) after a possible fallout with owner Sanjiv Goenka.
Incredibly, for the first time, Rahul will bat in the middle order, rather than his customary opening role. With 4,163 runs in 118 matches, KL Rahul boasts an impressive average of 46.78 and a strike rate of 134.41.
